In Malegaon, Islam Party has sought support from AIMIM and talks are going on between the two parties. After the Malegaon Municipal Corporation elections, the majority figure for the post of Mayor is 43. There are total 84 seats here. No single party has got majority.

Islam Party has emerged as the largest party in Malegaon. This party has captured 35 seats in the elections. Whereas Asaduddin Owaisi’s AIMIM stood second by winning 21 seats. Samajwadi Party has got success on 5 seats. BJP won 2 seats. While Shiv Sena Shinde faction got 18 seats. Apart from this, Congress has won 3 seats.

The performance of ‘Islam Party’ in the Malegaon Municipal Corporation elections is being discussed all over Maharashtra. In the Muslim-dominated city of Malegaon, the newly formed ISLAM Party not only won but also got 41.7 percent votes. Owaisi’s party AIMIM got 25 percent votes. While Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena got 21.4 percent votes. Elections for 29 municipal corporations in Maharashtra were held on Thursday (January 15). After this the results were declared on Friday (January 16).

Asif Sheikh Rashid founded Islam Party. Asif Shaikh has been the leader of undivided NCP. He has also been an MLA from NCP. He formed the Islam Party in August 2024.
