A big and relief news has come out for the youth who are dreaming of becoming government doctors. The Health Department of Bihar has announced recruitment to the vacant posts of Junior Resident in the medical colleges and hospitals of the state. This is considered a good opportunity for thousands of youth waiting for this recruitment. The online application process for recruitment has started and interested candidates can fill the form till the due date.

This recruitment has been done by Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board i.e. BCECEB. Any candidate who wants to participate in this recruitment can apply online by visiting the official website of the Board, bceceboard.bihar.gov.in. The last date for application has been fixed as 6 February 2026. The department has clearly said that no application will be accepted after the last date.

How many posts will be recruited?

Under this recruitment, a total of 1445 posts will be appointed. Of these, 35 percent posts have been reserved for women. With this, women doctors are also expected to get a large number of opportunities.

Who can apply?

Only those candidates who have MBBS degree can apply for this recruitment. This degree should be recognized by the National Medical Council or National Medical Commission. Apart from this, it is necessary for the candidate to be an Indian citizen.

Age limit has also been fixed for recruitment. The maximum age for male candidates of unreserved category has been kept at 37 years. The maximum age for women is 40 years. Backward Class and Extremely Backward Class candidates can apply up to 40 years. The maximum age for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe has been fixed at 42 years. Disabled candidates have been given additional relaxation of 10 years in the age limit. Age will be calculated considering January 7, 2026 as the base.

How will the selection be done?

Candidates will be selected on the basis of merit list and interview. First, merit will be prepared on the basis of educational qualification, after which the selected candidates will be called for interview. Final selection will be based on performance in the interview.

How much salary will you get?

The candidates who will be selected for the post of Junior Resident will be given a salary of Rs 65 thousand every month. This salary is being considered a good package for new doctors. The tenure of recruitment will be one year.
