The deadline for Special Intensive Review (SIR) in many states of the country including Rajasthan ended on Monday (January 19), but a video from Jaipur, known as Pink City, is going viral, due to which this entire process is under question. The viral video of a BLO is not only making headlines but is also raising questions on the impartiality of the SIR process.
In this video, government teacher Kirti Kumar, who works as a BLO from Hawamahal assembly seat of Jaipur, is talking on the phone to the local BJP councilor. In the conversation, he is telling the councilor that he will never wrongly delete the names of people from a particular community. If pressure is put on him, he will sit on hunger strike at the SDM office. If pressure is still applied then he will sacrifice his life at the collector office.
In the video going viral, it is seen that he is repeatedly saying that he will never do any wrong. The names of people living in the area will not be arbitrarily deleted. This video is said to be from three days ago.
The name of the BLO whose video is going viral is Kirti Kumar. Basically he is a teacher. He was talking on the phone with BJP councilor Suresh Saini of Ward No. 13 of Jaipur Heritage Municipal Corporation. BLO Kirti Kumar claims that the councilor was pressurizing him to delete the names of about 450 Muslim voters from his booth.
Talk of removing names of 450 voters
It is being claimed that the councilor wanted to remove the voters from the list by writing transfer in front of their names. In the video going viral, it is clearly heard that he is telling the councilor that he will never do anything wrong. Even if they get him suspended. While talking, he gets angry and says that if too much pressure is applied, he will go to the collector’s office and commit suicide there.
Congress targeted BJP
However, now political turmoil has erupted in Rajasthan regarding this viral video. Congress Party MLA Rafiq Khan has targeted the government staff and the Election Commission regarding this. He has said that this is a very serious matter. Strict action should be taken in this matter. Under this pretext, the entire SIR has been exposed.
Rajasthan minister talked about investigation
On the other hand, Rajasthan Government Minister Gautam Duck has said that investigation is being conducted in this matter. Something can be said only on the basis of the investigation report. It is not appropriate to say anything until the investigation is completed.
After the video went viral, BLO Kirti Kumar was severely reprimanded by the officers. After the rebuke from the officers, BLO Kirti Kumar is avoiding saying anything formally on camera.
