World politics has heated up after US President Donald Trump’s threats to occupy Greenland. Regarding this, Trump agreed to the meeting to be held in Switzerland, but also said that he will not back down in the matter. The US President said that the matter of imposing tariffs on European countries opposing his demand on Greenland will be fulfilled 100 percent. European countries have once again shown solidarity regarding Greenland.
Greenland not part of Denmark: Russia
On one hand, Denmark’s Foreign Minister has said that America cannot threaten the ownership of the semi-autonomous Danish territory, while on the other hand, Britain’s Foreign Secretary has reiterated that the future of Greenland is to be decided by Greenlanders and only the Danish people. Meanwhile, Trump spoke with the NATO Secretary General and agreed to a meeting in Davos, Switzerland. On this whole issue, Russia called Greenland not a part of Denmark and called it a colonial conquest and also said that Russia has no interest in interfering in this matter.
Greenland is important for national security: Trump
Trump said, ‘I have told everyone clearly that Greenland is very important to national and world security.’ US Treasury Secretary Scott Besant has expressed confidence that US-Europe relations will remain strong and that Greenland will ultimately be in a very good situation for everyone.
The US President is in no mood to leave Greenland at any cost. Targeting European countries in several social media posts one after the other, he has made it clear that peace can be maintained only through force. He said that peace can be maintained in the world only through strength and only America has this capability.
There is no question of retreating now: Trump
Trump wrote, ‘I had a very good telephone conversation with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte about Greenland. I agreed to a meeting of different parties in Davos, Switzerland. As I told everyone very clearly that Greenland is very important for national and world security. Now there is no question of retreating.
He said, ‘America is by far the most powerful country in the world. A major reason for this is the reconstruction of our military during my first term and this construction is continuing at an even faster pace. We are the only power that can ensure peace in the entire world and this is very easily done through force.
