According to the IMD report, an alert of heavy rain has been issued in 9 states of India including Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh from Thursday (January 22, 2026) to Sunday (January 25, 2026). In case of rain, there is a possibility of drop in temperature in many states of India.
IMD’s warning regarding storm and rain in 9 states
According to the Indian Meteorological Department, a warning of thunderstorm and rain has been issued in many areas of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana and Rajasthan between January 22 and 25, 2026. During this period, there is a possibility of strong wind blowing at a speed of 40 kilometers per hour in these states.
At the same time, there is a possibility of rain with lightning in Himachal Pradesh and light to moderate rain in Punjab. Whereas in Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert of snowfall along with heavy rain. At the same time, there is a possibility of lightning in Uttarakhand on January 23.
How will be the weather condition in Delhi?
According to the report of the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in the country’s capital Delhi will remain near normal for the next few days. In which there is a possibility of increase from January 23. With this, winds at a speed of 30 kilometers per hour may occur with light rain in Delhi from January 23. Apart from this, there is also a possibility of light to moderate fog in the morning in Delhi for the next 6 days.
There will be change in weather in Bihar
At the same time, there may be a change in the weather pattern in Bihar adjacent to Uttar Pradesh from Tuesday (January 20). According to IMD, apart from the capital Patna, the minimum temperature may decrease by one to two degrees in Gayaji, Jehanabad, Madhubani, Saharsa, Purnia, Katihar, Araria, Buxar, Siwan, Bhojpur districts. At the same time, partial effect of the new disturbance can be seen in some states of Bihar. In such a situation, light to moderate rain can be recorded at some places. Whereas in most of the districts, cold wave will be seen flowing along with fog.
It may rain in the states of South India also
The effect of western disturbance can also be seen on the states of South India. According to the Meteorological Department report, due to the new weather system, rains are expected to start again in Tamil Nadu from January 25.
