In the auction held in November 2025 for WPL 2026, Diya Yadav caught everyone’s attention when Delhi Capitals bought her at the base price of Rs 10 lakh. In this way, she also became the youngest player to be bought in the WPL auction. However, the wait was for his debut, which was not possible in the initial matches of the WPL 2026 season. But after 3 defeats in the first 4 matches, Delhi Capitals finally gave a chance to young batsman Diya Yadav.

With this, Diya Yadav, who debuted at the age of just 16 years and 103 days, has become the youngest player of WPL. In this case, Diya broke the record of G Kamalini, who had debuted in the WPL 2025 season at the age of 16 years and 213 days. Coincidentally, just before Diya’s debut, Kamalini was out of WPL 2026 due to injury and in her place Mumbai Indians have included 20-year-old Vaishnavi Sharma in the squad. Vaishnavi also made her debut in this match.
