Advance booking of ‘Border 2’ is being done not only in India but also in select foreign markets like Canada, Germany and Australia. There is a lot of craze being seen among the people to watch the film on the first day, this can be estimated from the fact that till now about 2 lakh tickets have been sold across the country for the first day of ‘Border 2’.
- According to Sacanilc, till 12 noon on Thursday, the total collection of advance booking of the first day of the film has reached 6.03 crores with no blocked seats.
- Whereas with block seats it has earned Rs 10.43 crore in pre-ticket sale.
- The film, directed by Anurag Singh, was selling around 4,000 tickets every hour on BookMyShow on Thursday morning, which is 100% more than Tuesday.
- It is expected that Border 2 will gain more momentum on the last day and by midnight its advance booking will cross the Rs 10 crore mark with no blocked seats.
How many crores can ‘Border 2’ open with?
The pace of advance booking of ‘Border 2’ may not have been very fast, but still it has been better than some of the big Bollywood films released recently, even Dhurandhar. Ranveer Singh’s action film Dhurandhar did not even take advance booking of Rs 4 crore till a day before its release. Whereas Border 2 has earned approximately Rs 6 crores.
- Amidst all this, trade pundits believe that the first day collection of Border 2 will easily cross the Rs 28 crore mark of ‘Dhurandhar’.
- It will also leave behind the first day collection of Vicky Kaushal’s film ‘Chhaava’ (Rs 31 crore).
- The film is expected to open with a net collection of around Rs 32-35 crore in India, which is a big opening for Sunny Deol.
- Sunny’s previous film ‘Jatt’ had an opening of Rs 9 crore.
- If its word of mouth remains positive and spot booking increases in small cities, where Sunny Deol has a strong fan base, then the film can cross the Rs 40 crore mark on the first day.
- If this happens, ‘Border 2’ will break the record of first day collection of Rs 40.1 crore of ‘Gadar 2’.
