Adar Poonawala tweeted about RCB franchise

Adar Poonawala wrote in a tweet on his X account about buying the RCB franchise, ‘In the next few months, I am going to make a strong and competitive bid for RCB, which is one of the best teams in the IPL.’ Even though RCB has won the IPL only once so far, their fan base is very strong. RCB competes with franchises like Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings, which have won the IPL five times each, in terms of fan base.

Virat Kohli is the biggest name of RCB

Royal Challengers Bangalore had included Virat Kohli in the inaugural season of IPL in 2008 itself. After that, as Virat’s stature increased in the cricket world, RCB’s fan following also increased because of Virat. Virat Kohli is the biggest name of RCB at present and he has also captained RCB for a long time. Although, Bangalore could not win the title under his captaincy, but when Royal Challengers Bangalore won the title by defeating Punjab Kings last season, Virat Kohli played a big role in helping RCB win the trophy. Virat was at third place in the list of batsmen who scored the most runs in IPL 2025. He had scored a total of 657 runs in 15 matches with the help of eight half-centuries.
