Rajinikanth and Shatrughan Sinha starrer ‘Hum Mein Shahenshah Kaun’ was stuck for 37 years, will now hit the box office

After decades of waiting, the long-delayed multi-starrer film ‘Hum Mein Shahenshah Kaun’ is finally ready to release on the big screen. After 37 years, the audience’s wait for the film starring superstar Rajinikanth and Shatrughan Sinha in the lead roles is about to end.

This dream of producer Raja Roy is now being fulfilled, who was successful in saving the film despite personal problems and many obstacles. Apart from Rajinikanth and Shatrughan Sinha, the film stars Hema Malini, Anita Raj, Prem Chopra, Sharad Saxena, late Amrish Puri, and Jagdeep.

The classic Bollywood film was directed by the late Harmesh Malhotra. Dialogues were written by Salim-Faiz, music was given by Laxmikant-Pyarelal, songs were written by Anand Bakshi and choreography was done by Saroj Khan. Associate producers are Aslam Mirza and Shabana Mirza. This is a film made under the banner of Raja Roy Films and Rex Music Entertainment.

The entire shooting was done, but it was never submitted for certification. The reason was producer Raja Roy’s personal problem. After the shooting, he went to London for business, where his younger son died. Due to this grief the release of the film was stopped. Later, the untimely death of director Harmesh Malhotra also further affected the project.

Still the producers did not give up. Aslam Mirza and Shabana Mirza resolved to start it again. With the help of modern technology, the film has been restored with AI. 4K remastering, 5.1 surround sound mastering has been done. AI was used only to enhance the visuals and clarify the audio, so that the basics of the original performance, screenplay and story remained intact.

Producer Raja Roy said, “We never lost hope. The film has endured sorrows, obstacles and long silences. Today we are happy that it is reaching the audience. This is the fulfillment of destiny.”

Aslam Mirza said that technology was used sparingly. The goal was not to recreate the film, but to preserve its legacy. The film is now a brilliant cinematic return, an unreleased classic that has been restored for a modern audience, but with its old magic intact.

The film will be released in theaters across the country. Later it will also be available on OTT and other platforms. It will give audiences a glimpse of Bollywood of the 80s-90s—big stars, great music, and a mix of action and drama.
