The family members have accused the SIT, which is investigating the death of the NEET student, that the team is trying to suppress the case. ABP News spoke to the family on Friday (January 23, 2026). During this, the student’s father said that when his daughter was admitted in Prabhat Memorial Hospital, when we used to go to meet him, we were stopped.
The father said that the girl was unconscious. She regained consciousness for some time. When his wife asked him if something wrong had happened to him, he was crying. She was nodding her head and saying yes. There was injury on the body. We started recording video, but were thrown out of the room. We were manhandled.
‘Hostel operator and hospital murdered’
He further said that we could not even find the clothes in which the girl was admitted to the hospital. Not given till date. My daughter was murdered after rape. The hostel operator and the hospital staff together murdered my daughter. SIT people are busy suppressing the case. Every day we are being interrogated and harassed in the name of investigation. Efforts are being made to divert the investigation in another direction.
The father said that pressure is being put on us. SIT says that the incident took place in this Patiyawan village of Jehanabad. SIT also says that sexual violence has not taken place. The team asks how long did you talk to the girl on the phone? What was your relationship like with your cousin? SIT wants us to panic and confess to the crime.
‘Why was Manish arrested and sent to jail?’
During the conversation it was further said that no one has been arrested even after 13 days of the incident. Why was hostel building owner Manish arrested and sent straight to jail? Why was he not interrogated on remand? We are not satisfied with the SIT investigation. A committee should be formed under the chairmanship of a Supreme Court or High Court judge. When we were bringing our daughter from Patna to Jehanabad on 27th December, no medicine for sleep and depression was purchased on the way. All these are false, fabricated things.
It was alleged that a sex racket was running in Shambhu Hostel. Efforts are being made to protect big people in this matter. We have doubts about the hostel operator. He has not been arrested yet. The father said that the daughter was never stressed, she was very happy.
