Former chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Najam Sethi has created a new controversy by calling ICC ‘Indian Cricket Council’. In fact, he has objected to the ICC’s decision to exclude Bangladesh from the T20 World Cup 2026 and replace it with Scotland. Najam Sethi has been the Chairman of PCB for three different terms and is well-versed with the policies and rules of international cricket.

This is the same Najam Sethi, who supported the idea that Pakistan should also boycott the T20 World Cup 2026.

BCCI is running ICC

There is no doubt that BCCI is the richest cricket board in the world and it has more influence in the world as compared to other boards. Najam Sethi did not say this directly, but claimed that the International Cricket Council is being run by BCCI.

Let us tell you that after Bangladesh’s exit from the T20 World Cup 2026, Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has said that the Pakistan team will play in the T20 World Cup only when Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif allows it.

Told ICC as ‘Indian Cricket Council’

According to Telecom Asia Sport, former PCB Chief Najam Sethi said that Bangladesh boycotted the T20 World Cup 2026, after which it remains to be seen what decision the PCB takes. He said that Mohsin Naqvi understands the nuances of all these matters very well and will definitely take the right decision.

Najam Sethi further said, “If other countries join hands with Pakistan, then ICC will know that it is not ‘Indian Cricket Council’ but International Cricket Council.”
