IND vs NZ 2nd T20I: In the second T20 International between India and New Zealand played in Raipur, Team India did such a run-chase, which directly got registered in the book of world records. On the basis of explosive batting of Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav, India has created history of achieving the target of more than 200 runs fastest.
Target of 209 runs reached in 92 balls
Batting first, New Zealand put 208 runs on the board after losing 6 wickets, which is considered a strong score in T20 cricket. However, for India this target proved to be not just a challenge but an opportunity to make a record. Team India won the match by scoring 209 runs in just 15.2 overs. In this victory, India had 28 balls left, which has become the fastest and easiest chase of the target of more than 200 runs among the full member countries.
Pakistan’s record broken
With this victory, India has broken Pakistan’s world record. Earlier in 2025, Pakistan had chased 205 runs with 24 balls remaining against New Zealand. Now India has become the team to achieve the target of more than 200 runs with maximum number of balls remaining in this format.

Team India has now reached second position among the teams which have easily achieved the target of more than 200 runs most number of times in T20 cricket. India has achieved this feat 6 times so far. Australia (7) is at first place in this list, while South Africa (5), Pakistan (4) and England (3) are also included in this race.

Stormy pair of Ishaan-Surya
India had a very poor start in front of this big target. Two wickets fell for just 6 runs. After the initial setbacks, the match seemed to be going in favor of New Zealand, but after this Ishan Kishan took charge. Ishan Kishan batted very aggressively and put pressure on the Kiwi bowlers. He scored 76 runs in just 32 balls, which included 11 fours and 4 sixes.
After Ishaan’s dismissal, captain Suryakumar Yadav completely attacked the Kiwi bowlers. Surya scored unbeaten 82 runs in 37 balls and made the run-chase easy. In the end, Shivam Dubey sealed the victory by adding unbeaten 36 runs in 18 balls.

For New Zealand, captain Mitchell Santner played important innings of 47 runs and Rachin Ravindra played important innings of 44 runs. Kuldeep Yadav was the most successful bowler for India, who took 2 wickets. Apart from this, Hardik Pandya, Harshit Rana, Varun Chakraborty and Shivam Dubey also got one success each.
