2025: Budget day ends with flat closing
On the budget day in the year 2025, the stock market had a good start, but by the end of the day the momentum had slowed down. After the presentation of the budget on February 1, 2025, the Sensex closed at 77,505.96 with a rise of 5.39 points, while the Nifty 50 slipped by 26.25 points and ended the day trading at 23,482.15.
There was a decline in the market due to global market concerns and the impact of budget announcements. However, good gains were recorded in Sun Pharma and some railway shares.
2024: Capital gains tax will spoil the environment
Tremendous fluctuations were seen in the market during the Budget Day of 2024. As soon as capital gains tax was mentioned, investors started selling. The effect of this was that the Sensex fell by about 1200 points and the Nifty fell by more than 400 points.
There was some recovery later. Sensex fell by 106.81 points to 71,645.30 points while Nifty 50 slipped by 28.20 points and ended the day at 21,697.50 points.
2023: Fast start, weak finish
The market had made a strong start on the budget day in the year 2023. At one time the Sensex had risen by more than 1200 points and reached beyond 60 thousand. However, by the end of the day this lead had largely evaporated. At the end of the trading day, the Sensex jumped 158.18 points and closed at the level of 59,708.08. Whereas Nifty 50 fell by 45.85 points and ended the day at 17,616.30.
2022: Good strength seen in the market
A good rise was seen in the stock market on the Budget Day of 2022. The Sensex rose 848.40 points to close at 58,862.57. Whereas Nifty had increased by 237 points to reach 17,576.85. During this period, good buying was seen in sectors like Pharma, FMCG, Metal, IT.
2021: Great year for investors
Budget Day of the year 2021 was excellent for the stock market. On this day, the Sensex closed at 48,600.61 points with a jump of 2314.84 points or about 5 percent. A strong rise of 646.60 points was also recorded in Nifty 50.
Nifty 50 ended the day trading at 14,281.20 points. On this day investors got the opportunity to earn huge profits.
