During the NEET-UG re-exam held yesterday, some cases of cheating and impersonation have come to light from Lakhisarai district of Bihar. On this, Director General of National Testing Agency (NTA) Abhishek Singh said that some candidates were trying to take mobile phones to the examination centres, while some people were trying to take the examination in place of other candidates. However, due to the vigilance and security arrangements of the agency, these attempts were caught in time.
Abhishek Singh said that to maintain the fairness of the examination, NTA has implemented several levels of security arrangements. Arrangements have been made for intensive frisking of candidates, checking of identity cards, biometric authentication and CCTV surveillance at the examination centres. He said that all these security measures are aimed at ensuring that no person can influence the examination process by using unfair means.

No fraudster will get away
NTA Director General said in clear words that any candidate or person involved in copying, impersonation or any other type of examination related fraud will be caught. He said that the purpose of our security system is that no person can do any kind of disturbance. If anyone makes such an attempt he will definitely be caught.

NEET re-exam was conducted on June 21 at examination centers across the country. More than 22.79 lakh candidates appeared in the exam. More than 13 lakh girl students and more than 9 lakh boys were included in this. This exam was conducted at 551 centers across the country and 14 centers set up abroad. The examination was conducted from 2 pm to 5:15 pm.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) exam was conducted in 13 languages amid tight security arrangements. Arrangements like Aadhaar-based biometric-face authentication, CCTV surveillance, signal jammers and two-level frisking were put in place to ensure transparency and fairness of the examination. Apart from this, real-time monitoring of the examination was also done through the command and control centers established by the NTA Education Ministry, State Headquarters and District Administration.
