A very good news has emerged for the candidates who are dreaming of working in Kendriya Vidyalayas. Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has announced major recruitment for the posts of Special Educator (Special Teacher) for the academic session 2026-27. Under this recruitment drive, a total of 987 posts have been approved in Kendriya Vidyalayas across the country.
This recruitment is being done especially for those children who need special help during their studies. This step of KVS is being considered an important effort towards further strengthening inclusive education.
Why is this recruitment being done?
Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan had received feedback from different areas of the country that there is a need to increase the number of trained teachers for children with special needs. Keeping this in mind, these posts have been approved on the basis of suggestions from various KVS regional offices under the Ministry of Education. The main objective of this recruitment is to ensure that special children get right guidance, support and quality education in every Kendriya Vidyalaya. e
Recruitment for 987 TGT-PRT posts
Under this recruitment process, a total of 987 sanctioned posts have been kept, which are divided into two categories. In which the first special teacher TGT (trained graduate teacher) is 493 posts and special teacher PRT (primary teacher) is 494 posts. That means almost equal number of appointments will be made at both TGT and PRT levels. Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has made temporary distribution of these 987 posts in different states and regions of the country. This distribution has been decided on the basis of need, student population and demand received from regional offices. However, complete details of state-wise and region-wise vacancies have not been released yet. This information will be made available in the form of PDF file along with the official notification.
When will the notification come?
KVS has clarified that detailed notification related to this recruitment will be released soon on the official website kvsangathan.nic.in. It is likely that the online application process will be started in early February 2026. Candidates are advised to regularly visit the official website of KVS.
