Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Mayawati has made a big demand from the Central Government on the occasion of the 77th Republic Day. He has reiterated the demand to honor the party’s founder and pioneer of the Bahujan movement, Honorable Kanshi Ram, with Bharat Ratna. Mayawati said that Kanshi Ram dedicated his entire life in the struggle to provide the forest of self-respect and self-respect to crores of Bahujans, poor, exploited and deprived sections of the country. Mayawati clarified that Bahujan Samaj Party has been continuously demanding to give Bharat Ratna to Kanshi Ram and now there should be no further delay in it.
On the occasion of January 26, Mayawati extended Republic Day greetings to the countrymen and Indian citizens living abroad. Along with this, he also raised questions on the spirit of the Constitution. Mayawati said that moving away from mere tall claims and tempting promises, it should be honestly assessed whether the central and state governments have strengthened political, social and economic democracy in accordance with the pro-social intention of the Constitution or not.
‘Proud of the Constitution is meaningful only when…’
He said that pride in the Constitution is meaningful only when there is real and expected improvement in the forest status of the common people as per its basic objectives. Mayawati also said that the way to get rid of the burning problems of the country will be found only by implementing the spirit of the Constitution in the true sense.
