Questions raised on UGC’s decision, know what teachers and students say on the new rules?

A round of discussions has started across the country regarding the new rules of UGC. ABP News team talked to teachers and students of Sampurnanand Sanskrit University, Varanasi, where everyone expressed their opinion. Some seemed to be in favor of this rule while others openly expressed their disagreement. Let us know people’s opinion…

Student Vikas Mishra said that everything is not correct in this rule, but to some extent it is correct. He said that even today in some universities, students are seen differently on the basis of their name and caste. In such a situation, special care should be taken that no student or person misuses this rule.

Can be used in personal enmity

Student Rohit Mishra called it a black law. He said that this law is more stringent than the SC-ST Act and is not appropriate for the golden society. He alleged that this is more oppressive than the laws of the British era. Rohit Mishra said that the controversy is being escalated deliberately. He raised the question that when backward classes, women and disabled people have been included in the committee, then why no representative of the golden section was kept. He said that if there was even one person from the gold category in the committee, what harm would it do to anyone. Another student expressed apprehension that this rule could also be used to vent personal enmity. At the same time, some students called it a step promoting casteism.

Conspiracy to divide the country

Teacher Dr. Vijay Mishra not only requested but also challenged the rule makers regarding these guidelines of UGC. He said that if the reservation system is so important, then only reserved category teachers should teach reserved category students. He also said that reserved category patients should be treated only by reserved category doctors. Dr. Mishra said that while making policies, the gold standard should also be thought of.

Dr. Saket Shukla called this entire matter a conspiracy to divide the country. He said that this is creating division between brothers and friends. He said that in today’s situation the Golden Society is becoming a minority, in such a situation how can the minority oppress the majority. He raised the question that when the system was prepared, why no gold category person was included in the committee. He said that if the complaint is against the golden section and there is no representative of it in the committee, then how can this system be called fair.
