India has once again given a strong message to Pakistan, which continues to patronize terrorism, through a global platform like the United Nations. India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Parvathneni Harish made a scathing attack on Pakistan’s policies and said that Pakistan’s only agenda is to harm India and its citizens. He rejected Pakistan’s claims with facts on issues like Operation Sindoor, terrorism, ceasefire, Jammu and Kashmir and Indus Water Treaty and made the international community aware of its real truth.
Speaking in the United Nations Security Council, Parvathneni Harish said that the representative of Pakistan has put forward misleading and fabricated statements regarding Operation Sindoor. He clarified that till May 9, Pakistan was continuously threatening India with more attacks, but on May 10, the situation changed and the Pakistani Army itself appealed to India for ceasefire. The Indian representative said that many important airbases of Pakistan were heavily damaged in India’s retaliatory military action. Runways were destroyed, hangars were burnt to ashes and photographs related to these incidents are publicly available, which Pakistan cannot deny.
Strong rebuke for calling terrorism the new normal
India also sharply attacked Pakistan’s thinking in which it tries to make terrorism normal or acceptable. Parvathneni Harish bluntly said that terrorism can never be considered as the new normal. He said that the way Pakistan uses terrorism as a government policy, it is a serious threat to international peace and security. The United Nations cannot become a platform to justify or legitimize terrorism.
Strict message to Pakistan on Jammu and Kashmir
India’s permanent representative also gave a strong and clear message to Pakistan on the issue of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that Pakistan has no right to comment on India’s internal affairs. He reiterated in clear words that Jammu and Kashmir was, is and will always be an integral and unbreakable part of India, and no statement or propaganda can change this truth.
Questions raised on Pakistan’s constitution and army
While advising Pakistan to introspect, India’s representative also raised questions on its internal structure. He said that Pakistan should ask itself that how it gave its army the freedom to carry out a constitutional coup through the 27th Constitutional Amendment and why it made a provision for lifelong protection to its army chief.
