Yesterday i.e. Tuesday night, Arijit Singh surprised everyone by sharing a post on social media. While wishing for the New Year, he said that now he will not do playback singing in films. This news was also shocking because recently his song Matrubhumi was released which he sang with Shreya Ghosal for Salman Khan’s film Battle of Galwan. In the post that went viral from a private social media account of Arijit, he told that this decision is not due to a single reason but due to many reasons. Arijit, who started his career with the reality show Fame Gurukul in 2005, gradually made his name a household name with Murder 2’s Phir Mohabbat in 2011 and Aashiqui 2 in 2013. Till now he has sung 800+ songs and has done live shows continuously in India and abroad. Arijit always likes a simple life, no unnecessary media attention. People close to him say that it is natural to have emotional and creative exhaustion after 15 years of non-stop work. He made it clear that he is keeping distance from films and is not leaving music. Now he wants to become independent and give a new voice to his music. His official statement read: Hello Happy New Year. I thank all the listeners wholeheartedly. I have decided that now I will not do any new assignment of playback singing in films. It has been a wonderful journey. It is probably emotional for the fans but many people consider it a new chapter of their career. We believe that now every music lover will wait to see when and what Arijit will say in his voice.
