Dubai has announced a very spectacular and unique project, in which the world’s first ‘Gold Street’ i.e. a road made of gold will be built. This project is part of Dubai’s new ‘Dubai Gold District’, which is being called ‘Sone Ka Ghar’ or ‘Home of Gold’. Its objective is to make Dubai the world’s largest center for gold and jewelery trade.
More than 1 thousand gold shops will be built
This Gold Street will be made entirely of gold elements and it is being said to be the first such road in the world. It will be built in Dera area of Dubai, which is already famous for Gold Souq. Tourists come here to buy gold and jewellery. In this new district, everything related to retail shops, wholesale trading, bullion (gold bricks), investment and jewelery will be at one place. Officials hope that there will be at least more than 1 thousand retail gold shops here, which will become a big attraction for tourists and businessmen.
Dubai’s reputation will increase with the city of gold
The project has been launched by Ithra Dubai, which operates under the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) and Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE). DFRE CEO Ahmed Al Khaja said that gold is deeply linked to Dubai’s culture and business. It symbolizes our heritage, prosperity and business spirit. A UAE official also said that the Gold District and Gold Street will further strengthen Dubai as a global center of gold.
