Amid fears of a possible US attack, activities on Iran’s nuclear sites have intensified. New movement has been seen at the nuclear center located in Isfahan city of Iran in satellite images released in the last 24 hours. This is the same nuclear plant which was attacked by America last year and it suffered heavy damage.
Underground entry gates were closed again
According to the Institute for Science and International Security, Iran has once again filled the main entrance of the underground complex with soil. Along with this, fresh soil is also being poured at the southern entrance, so that the road there is completely closed.
Preparation to defend against American attack
It is believed that Iran is taking this step to avoid a possible attack by America. According to the report, its purpose is to provide additional security to the storage centers containing about 408 kg of enriched uranium.
Gates were opened earlier, tunnels were strengthened
Earlier, these entrances of Isfahan were opened temporarily for engineering work. During that time, the tunnels were made of very strong concrete so that the impact of any attack could be reduced.
Uranium storage is being made like a fort
Iran is almost turning the entire area into a fortress to keep its enriched uranium safe for a long time. Security is being strengthened at many levels.
activity in the building above ground
Satellite images also show that work is going on in the building above ground, where centrifuges were earlier made. This is becoming a cause of concern for international agencies.
What is a centrifuge?
Centrifuge is a special machine, which is used to enrich uranium. Highly enriched uranium can be used to make nuclear weapons.
America-Israel attack last year
In June last year, America and Israel carried out attacks targeting Iran’s nuclear program. Both countries allege that Iran is trying to make a nuclear bomb under the guise of a civilian nuclear program. The nuclear bases of Natanz, Fordow and Isfahan were damaged in these attacks.
Iran’s claim and talks deadlock
Iran has consistently maintained that its nuclear program is only for civilian use and that it is not making nuclear weapons. America has been wanting to make a nuclear deal on its own terms for a long time, but the talks are not progressing. Now Donald Trump is again talking about an unconditional agreement, while Iran has clearly said that talks are not possible amid threats of attack.
