What is CRVO and is this disease dangerous?

Central retinal vein occlusion is a dangerous eye disease. In this disease, a blood clot forms in the main vein of the retina, due to which there is problem in blood circulation inside the eye. Its direct effect falls on the retina and the patient starts seeing blurred. According to doctors, if not treated on time, this disease can cause permanent vision loss. According to the report, central retinal vein occlusion has been confirmed in Imran Khan’s right eye and he is already having trouble seeing clearly.

Accusations on jail administration regarding treatment

According to the report, the jail administration is not providing proper treatment facilities to Imran Khan. Imran Khan’s party PTI says that doctors have clearly told that the treatment of this disease is not possible in the jail premises and it requires special medical facilities and operation. Despite this, the jail administration is insisting on getting the treatment done inside the jail itself. According to PTI, Imran Khan was last given permission to meet his personal doctor in October 2024. Since then, despite the orders of the Islamabad High Court, his personal doctors were not allowed to meet him.

Imran Khan is in jail since 2023

73-year-old Imran Khan has been in jail since August 2023 and has been kept in solitary confinement most of the time. His lawyers and party leaders say that no one has been allowed to meet him for the last three months. Whereas the court had ordered that the family and the lawyer can meet him twice a week. The party claims that Imran Khan has not been able to meet even his lawyers for almost 100 days. Imran Khan’s sisters, lawyers and PTI leaders are continuously protesting outside the jail. Later, during these demonstrations, the police also used tear gas and water cannon. Let us tell you that Imran Khan has been the PM of Pakistan from 2018 to 2022. He was arrested in August 2023 after being removed from power through a no-confidence motion.
