Stock Market Opening Bell: The beginning of the budget trading day on Sunday, February 1 in the Indian stock market was flat. Major benchmark indices BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 opened trading in the green.
The 30-share BSE Sensex index opened at 82,388.97 with a rise of 119.19 points or 0.14 per cent, while the NSE Nifty 50 opened at 25,333.75 with a rise of 13.10 points or 0.05 per cent. However, both the indices saw a decline in early trading and slipped into the red.
By around 9:21 am, the Sensex was trading at 82,285 points, down by 15 points. Whereas Nifty 50 was trading at the level of 25,282 after slipping 38 points.

How was the market on Friday?
On Friday, January 30, there was a decline in the Indian stock market and both the major benchmark indices closed trading in the red. Sensex fell by 296.59 points or 0.36 percent to 82,269.78 points, while NSE Nifty 50 slipped by 98.25 points or 0.39 percent and ended the trading day at 25,320.65.
Mahindra & Mahindra, SBIN, ITC and Titan were the top gainers from the BSE basket. Talking about the top losers, Tata Steel, ICICI Bank, PowerGrid, HCL Tech and Tech Mahindra were.
A decline was seen in the shares of Nifty Midcap 100, Nifty 100, Nifty Bank and Nifty IT. There was a rise in the shares of Nifty Smallcap 100, Nifty FMCG and Nifty Auto. On Friday’s trading day, 15 shares from BSE basket closed on the green mark and 15 shares recorded a decline.
