The dispute that started over the name of a clothing shop located at Patel Marg in Kotdwar, Uttarakhand, continued to escalate in the last two days and now the matter has reached the police station via the road. This dispute, which was initially limited to alleged misbehavior and protest, has now become the reason for police action, FIR and strictness of the administration. Considering the seriousness of the situation, Pauri Police is keeping a close watch on the entire matter.
According to the information, objection was raised regarding the name of a clothing shop located on Patel Marg. It is alleged that during this time some youths misbehaved with the workers associated with Bajrang Dal. The next day, a large number of Bajrang Dal workers reached Kotdwar in protest against this incident. Activists from other districts first took out a procession in the city and later gathered at Malviya Udyan and demonstrated.
The atmosphere during the demonstration became more tense when some protesters reached outside the gym of the concerned youth. Seeing the situation worsening, the police had to deploy additional forces on the spot and after much effort the protesters were removed from there. Due to the promptness of the police, any major untoward incident was averted.
Case registered on the complaint of shopkeeper lawyer Ahmed
After this dispute escalated, the police adopted a strict stance and registered two separate cases. On the complaint of shopkeeper lawyer Ahmed, a case has been registered against two named and some unknown people for threatening to change the name of the shop. At the same time, a case has also been registered against 30 to 40 unknown people for disturbing law and order and communal harmony. Along with this, the police has issued a strict warning regarding inflammatory posts and statements on social media.
Case registered against Mohammad Deepak also
In this entire incident, a complaint was submitted to the police from both the parties, on the basis of which action has been taken. Police have also registered a case against Mohammad Deepak alias Deepak Karki. A case has been registered against him under sections 115(2), 191(1), 351(2) and 352 of the Indian Justice Code (BNS). According to the police, at present all the sections registered are bailable.
Police is trying to calm down the dispute between the two parties.
SSP Pauri Sarvesh Pawar told ABP News that there is no provision for arrest in the sections under which the case has been registered. He said that the police is trying to settle the dispute through dialogue between the two parties, so that no animosity spreads in the society and peace is maintained.
