UP government minister Om Prakash Rajbhar said that Panchayat elections will be held in the state even before the assembly elections to be held in Uttar Pradesh. Om Prakash Rajbhar further said that only elections will be held after the completion of the SIR process. There is talk that Panchayat elections will be held between April and July 2026. Only when the elections are announced, the dates will also be announced.

Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar has said in a statement issued in the media that the government is making full preparations for the Panchayat elections, the ballot papers have been printed and have gone to all the districts. He has claimed that Panchayat elections will be held on time, when asked by the media whether Panchayat elections will be held before or after the assembly elections? On this he said that it will happen before the assembly elections.
