All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) President Asaduddin Owaisi has fiercely attacked the Modi government at the Centre. Addressing an election rally held in Sangireddy district, he termed the new Waqf (Amendment) Bill as a ‘law that will destroy Muslims’ and claimed that if his party had more MPs in Parliament, the government would not have had the courage to bring it. While expressing his views, Owaisi also gave a befitting reply to those who raised questions on patriotism.
In the speech, Owaisi said, ‘If Akhtarul Iman and Imtiaz Jalil had come to the Parliament of India along with Asaduddin Owaisi, there were three of us, then perhaps Narendra Modi could not have brought this black Waqf law.’ He asked in a questioning tone, who is being harmed by making this law? He clarified that there is a danger of damage only to the mosques, dargahs and khanqahs of Muslims.
Owaisi expressed concern over intolerance
Expressing concern over the increasing intolerance in the country, Owaisi said that there is no need to despair over mob lynching and atrocities committed by cow vigilantes. Referring to the incidents of damage to mosques in Tripura, he said that we have to keep our morale high and face the situation in a democratic manner.
Mentioned about the victory in Nagpur
Citing the growing strength of his party in Maharashtra, Owaisi said that when 125 corporators were successful in the Majlis, the opposition parties got worried. Referring to the victory in Nagpur, he said that where BJP’s headquarters is located and where they are called ‘B Team’, 6 councilors of Majlis have shown their strength by winning. He said, “We had raised the flag and told, listen RSS people, this is the Majlis, now it has come here and will become stronger in Nagpur.”
Owaisi’s strong reaction against opponents
Owaisi gave a strong reaction when his opponents called him anti-national. He said that people associate him with the person who created Pakistan (Jinnah), but it is not so. He said, ‘I am not the one who divided India and went to Pakistan. I love this country and will always love it. He clarified that his fight is not against the country, but against those forces who snatch the rights of Muslims and Dalits.
