Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has openly admitted for the first time that the Pakistani Army is not capable of protecting Balochistan. He admitted that amid the increase in terrorist and insurgent attacks in recent times, the army is facing great difficulty in patrolling and controlling the situation. This statement has come at a time when Baloch rebels have carried out several major and dangerous attacks in Balochistan.
Khawaja Asif said this in the National Assembly of Pakistan. He said that Balochistan is the largest province of Pakistan and more than 40 percent of the total area of the country falls in this state. It has become very difficult for the army to protect such a large area. He said that the government has been forced to deploy a large number of soldiers, but despite this it is not possible to keep an eye on the entire area.

Khwaja Asif’s shocking revelation
The Defense Minister said in clear words that guarding such a vast and spread area is more difficult than guarding a big city. He admitted that the soldiers are trying their best, but due to physical and resource limitations it is not possible to patrol everywhere. This statement raises serious questions on the security system of Pakistan. Khawaja Asif also made a shocking revelation in the Parliament that in many cases, Baloch rebels have more modern and expensive weapons than the Pakistani Army. According to him, the rebels are using rifles worth about 20 lakh rupees, thermal and laser systems worth 4 to 5 thousand dollars and complete combat gear worth about 20 thousand dollars. It is clear from this that the strength of the rebels is continuously increasing.
