BJP MP Nishikant Dubey trended by mentioning Nehru-Gandhi family, created a stir among social media users

Many times the debates taking place inside the Parliament are not limited to the House alone, but go out and become the biggest debates on social media. A similar scene was seen in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, when some comments made during the discussion on the President’s address created a stir in political circles. In the environment of already ongoing conflict between the ruling party and the opposition, this debate became more heated, as a result of which the proceedings had to be postponed. Now strong reactions are emerging on social media regarding this entire incident.

Ruckus in Parliament due to Nishikant Dubey’s statement

During the debate on the President’s address on Wednesday afternoon at around 2 pm, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey expressed his views in strong words about Congress and the Nehru-Gandhi family. He tried to cite some published books while making serious allegations against the Congress leadership. Dubey said that some of the books being discussed in the House were never published, while he had references to many published texts which contained critical details about the Congress and its top leaders.

Controversial statement given regarding Nehru and Gandhi

During his speech, Dubey mentioned the books related to Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi and said that these books contain mention of the politics, governance and controversies of that era. Taking names of books by MO Mathai, Sanjay Baru and other writers, he also pointed towards issues like Emergency, Bofors controversy and Mitrokhin Archive. During this, he expressed his desire to quote some excerpts, on which the Speaker of the House repeatedly intervened.

The whole controversy started due to Rahul Gandhi reading the book.

This entire incident has come to light at a time when opposition leader Rahul Gandhi had earlier cited an unpublished book which had created a controversy in Parliament. In that case also, there was a heated debate within the House regarding the rules and references. In such a situation, both sides are accusing each other of adopting double standards.
