How much is the cancellation charge?
On cancellation of confirmed tickets, Railways deducts cancellation charges according to time and class. If you cancel the ticket 48 hours before the departure of the train. So there is deduction under fixed charge. There is a deduction of Rs 240 in First AC, Rs 200 in 2AC, Rs 180 in 3AC, Rs 120 in Sleeper and Rs 60 in Second Class. If the ticket is canceled between 48 and 12 hours, 25 percent of the total fare is deducted. Whereas on cancellation between 12 to 4 hours, 50 percent fare is deducted. The less time is left, the greater the reduction.
