A very important news related to Agniveer Recruitment 2026 has come out for lakhs of youth who dream of serving the country. The Indian Army has changed a rule even before the start of the recruitment process, which if the candidates ignore, they may have to suffer losses despite working hard. This change is very important especially for the youth applying from tradesman category.

Till now many candidates used to take small details lightly while filling the application, but the Army has made it clear that this time no such carelessness will be tolerated. According to the new rule, if the candidate does not fill the required options at the time of application, his appointment can be canceled even after his name appears in the merit list. Therefore, the youth preparing for Agniveer recruitment need to be more cautious now than before.

Rules changed in tradesman recruitment

According to the notice released on the official website of Indian Army, joinindianarmy.nic.in, candidates applying for Agniveer Tradesman posts will now have to fill their trade preference at the time of application itself. 10th pass candidates can choose maximum 9 trades. 8th pass candidates will be able to fill the option of only 2 trades. If a candidate does not choose his trade while applying, then even if his name appears in the merit list, he will not be given recruitment. The Army has also clarified that if a candidate has not put any particular trade in his/her choice and later there is no vacancy in that trade, then that candidate will be out of selection.

Application date and information about posts
The application for Agniveer Recruitment 2026 was earlier scheduled to start from 3rd February, but at present this date has been removed from the website. It has been told by the Army that the application process will be started soon. The special thing about this recruitment is that candidates can apply for two different posts with the same application form. The posts included in the recruitment are Agniveer GD, Agniveer Technical, Clerk/Storekeeper, Tradesman (8th and 10th pass), Sainik Pharma, Nursing Assistant and Mahila Military Police.

Age Limit and Educational Qualification

For Agniveer Recruitment 2026, the age of the candidate should be between 17.5 years to 21 years. Educational qualification has been decided differently according to the post. In which for Agniveer GD, 10th pass and at least 45 percent marks, for technical post, Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English in 12th is necessary, for clerk/storekeeper, 60 percent marks in 12th along with typing test is necessary and for tradesman, it is necessary to have 8th or 10th pass.

Physical Test and Physical Standards

In the recruitment process, candidates will also have to undergo a physical test, which includes running, pull-up, long jump and zig-zag balance test. The timing of the race has been decided according to different groups. Apart from this, height, chest and other physical standards have also been determined according to the post.
