There was chaos in Delhi on Monday (February 9) morning when nine schools in the city received a bomb threat. According to Delhi Police, all these calls came between 8:30 and 9:00 in the morning. As soon as the information was received, police, fire brigade and bomb disposal squad immediately reached every school and an intensive search operation was started.

The impact of the threat was especially visible in the schools of South Delhi, where 3 schools were directly informed about receiving the calls. As a precautionary measure, school premises were immediately evacuated. Students and staff were sent to safe places, so that there is no danger of any kind.

Children’s safety comes first

The school administration stopped the classes without any delay and informed the parents. In many schools, children were sent home by buses and private vehicles. Concern was also seen among the parents present on the spot, but the police and school staff handled the situation and assured everyone that no lapse in security would be allowed.

Which schools received threats?

The schools that received threats include Loreto Convent School in Delhi Cantt, Cambridge School in Srinivasanpuri, Venkateswara School in Rohini, Cambridge School in NFC, Indian School in Sadiq Nagar, CM Shri School in Rohini, DTA School, Bal Bharti School in Rohini and Vanasthali School, New Rajendra Nagar. Same security procedure was adopted at all places.

Delhi Police said that technical investigation has been started to identify the callers. The location, number and other digital evidence of the call are being scrutinized. So far, there has been no confirmation of any suspicious object being found in any school.

The police have appealed to the people not to pay attention to rumors and only rely on official information. The situation is completely under control and the security of all the schools is being kept under strict surveillance.
