Chandrashekhar Azad, MP from Uttar Pradesh’s Lok Sabha seat Nagina and national president of Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram), has reacted to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat’s statement on awarding Bharat Ratna to Veer Savarkar. Nagina MP Chandrashekhar Azad said that there is freedom of expression in the country and anyone can demand an award for anyone, but the situation of Mohan Bhagwat is different.
Chandrashekhar Azad taunted and said that Bhagwat is like the owner of the government, so why does he need any demand, if he says it then who will refuse? Chandrashekhar Azad further said that who has contributed how much in the fight for the country’s independence and social change is recorded in history and is not hidden from anyone. He reiterated that his party has been demanding the award of Bharat Ratna to Bahujan hero Honorable Kanshi Ram for a long time. Kanshi Ram gave a new direction to the country’s politics and social consciousness and played a historic role in organizing the deprived society.
Nagina MP also reiterated the demand for giving Bharat Ratna to Kotwal Dhan Singh Gurjar, the hero of the revolution of 1857. He said that by not giving proper respect to such heroes and great men, the government is insulting the classes with which these great men were associated. Chandrashekhar Azad said in a warning tone that the society will not tolerate this neglect. He said that if the government does not pay heed to the demand of honoring these great personalities, then the public will respond democratically. Our people will not tolerate this insult and will take revenge with the power of votes.
‘Who is going to die as a Hindu, all these are Dalits…’, CM Yogi said – If we get divided, then the path of separation will also open.
