Gautam Gambhir Given Statement Regarding The Captaincy Of Suryakumar Yadav: India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir praised Suryakumar Yadav’s ‘restrained leadership abilities’ and said that as a captain in the T20 format, he passes all the tests and this makes his stressful job a little easier. In a short video shared by Star Sports, Gambhir said that it is a privilege for India to have an aggressive batsman like Suryakumar as the captain in the ongoing T20 World Cup. It is not known in this video when Gambhir has given this statement.
Suryakumar has made my work easier in T20 International – Gautam
Gambhir said, ‘Suryakumar has made my work very easy in this format. He is a great captain for people, not just because of what he does on the field, or how he is as a batsman, or how his shots are in this format. He said, ‘As a coach, sometimes there are many things going on in your mind, but when you know that Suryakumar will keep the atmosphere calm, which is the dream of any coach, then a lot becomes easier.’
Suryakumar batted brilliantly against America
India defeated America in its opening match of the T20 World Cup on Saturday, February 7, due to the brilliant batting of Suryakumar. The Indian captain managed the innings with an unbeaten 84 runs in 49 balls amidst the fall of wickets from one end. The Indian team will now play against Namibia on Thursday i.e. 12th February at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
Suryakumar Yadav has passed every test as captain – Gambhir
Gambhir said, ‘For me, player Suryakumar can be kept aside, but as captain Suryakumar, he has made my life very easy by meeting every test. He is truly a wonderful leader. He said, it is very good that the leadership of the country is in the hands of a player like him, because his heart is in the right place and he takes the right decisions under pressure. 35-year-old Suryakumar Yadav was part of the Indian team that won the T20 World Cup under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma two years ago. After Rohit’s retirement from this format, he was given the command of the team.
