Pakistan’s stance regarding the match against India in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 has suddenly changed. Pakistan, which earlier talked about boycott, is now ready to play a group match against India on 15th February. After this U-turn, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has been bombarded with questions and a video related to him is becoming increasingly viral on social media.
Questions asked to Naqvi after PSL press conference
Mohsin Naqvi was present in the press conference of Pakistan Super League (PSL) just before the official announcement regarding the India-Pak match. After the press conference, when a journalist tried to know from him whether Pakistan has got any special benefit in the talks with ICC. On this Naqvi clearly said that Pakistan has not asked anything for itself.
Naqvi further said that within some time the decision will be revealed to everyone and the entire situation will become clear. When he was asked if any good news was coming, he smiled and said that he always gives good news.
Stand was taken in support of Bangladesh
Pakistan had initially decided not to play the match against India in support of Bangladesh. Let us tell you that after Bangladesh was thrown out of the ICC tournament, the Pakistan government did not allow the team to take the field against India.
According to Mohsin Naqvi, Bangladesh itself had appealed to Pakistan to play the match because their issue had been resolved. After this, Pakistan has decided to change its stand.
PCB’s demands, but no approval
It has also come to light in the reports that PCB had placed three important demands before the ICC. These also included demands like restarting the bilateral series with India. However, ICC has refused to accept all these demands.
ICC made it clear in its statement that all the member boards will have to follow the conditions of the tournament and fulfill their responsibilities to make the event successful.
