A total of 6 matches of T20 World Cup 2026 are scheduled for Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, out of which one match has been played today. In this match, Netherlands defeated Namibia by 7 wickets. The next match here is between India and Namibia on 12th February, for which almost all the tickets have been sold and the demand for passes is also very high. But very few spectators will be seen in the matches to be held after this. One reason for this is the CBSE board exams, which are starting from next week.
Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) contacted many schools and proposed to them to come and watch the matches of T20 World Cup 2026. Although these matches will not be from India, but by coming with their teachers and in school uniform, they will be able to watch the matches for free. But according to the report, most of the schools rejected these proposals. One reason for this is that CBSE (10th and 12th) exams are starting from next week.
A senior DDCA official, who did not wish to be named, told PTI, “We contacted many schools, but due to the time of exams and matches, most of them refused to bring their children to matches other than India. Anyway, there is no special demand for tickets for matches other than India.”
The official further said, “When the stadium is empty, it is not pleasant to watch even on TV. That’s why it is a good idea to bring school children, but except the India vs Namibia match, all the other matches in Delhi are on week days. And the timings of these matches are 11 am and 3 pm. He joked that people do not even want premium tickets for matches of other teams except India.”
