There are often debates on social media about relationships, marriage or lifestyle, but this time the topic of discussion has become parenting. A post by Dr A Velumani, founder of Thyrocare and a well-known business leader, has sparked a long debate on the internet. His views on raising children forced some people to nod in agreement, while also made others uncomfortable. As soon as the post went viral, the question again came up that what is the right way to make children strong, love and praise or strictness and challenge.
Dr. Velumani told about ‘two types of parents’
Dr A Velumani, in his post, divided parents into two categories. They named it “Type A” and “Type B”. According to him, Type A parents are those who celebrate even small achievements of their children on a grand scale. They praise children openly, tell them to neighbours, post on social media and sometimes even give them rewards like a trip abroad. Velumani wrote that both parents and children remain happy in this process.
Two kinds in Mothers.
A. A child solves a small problem. Appreciates. Celebrate. Tells all neighbors. Puts in social media too. Takes for a foreign trip. Both happy.
B. A child solves a small problem. Gives a bigger problem. Keeps it incremental for years.
In the long run…

Type B parenting said to make a strong person
In the post, the thinking of Type B parents is described as different. According to Velumani, such parents allow the child to solve a small problem, then gradually pose a bigger challenge to it. Responsibilities increase year by year, due to which the child becomes physically and mentally stronger. He claimed that this method makes children “manyfold stronger” i.e. many times more capable adults.
‘Parent! Don’t Pamper!’ Line became reason for debate
The last line of Dr. Velumani’s post was “Parent! Do not Pamper!!” Became the center of discussion on social media. Many users called it a strict but necessary message, while some called it one-sided thinking. This line became the main reason for the post going viral.

Users spoke in support – character is formed strictly
Many social media users supported Velumani’s views. One user wrote that Type A parenting creates a fragile ego, while Type B creates a strong will. Another user said that it is easy to praise children all the time, but challenging them is the real preparation. According to him, comfort does not build character, responsibility does.
