The match between India and Pakistan in the 2026 T20 World Cup will be played only on 15 February, because Pakistan has withdrawn its decision of boycott. On this, the reaction of former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has come to light, who says that even the absence of Pakistan was not going to have any impact on the T20 World Cup.
According to news agency ANI, Harbhajan Singh said that Pakistan has understood very late that even without them there would be no impact on T20 World Cup 2026, but India cannot be excluded from it. India’s veteran spinner further said that Pakistan was talking about supporting Bangladesh, but Harbhajan already knew that Pakistan would hit back.
I already knew…
Harbhajan Singh said, “I had already said that Pakistan will definitely take a U-turn and play with India. When it comes to money, Pakistan will suffer huge economic loss, that is why they will be seen begging to play. Actually, this is what has happened, the economic loss could have been huge and they could have been banned also.”
warned Pakistan
Harbhajan Singh said that taking a U-turn was in the interest of Pakistan only, because it could have faced such losses from which it would not have been easy for it to recover. He said that ICC could have given severe punishment to Pakistan and perhaps they would never have got to host any tournament. Harbhajan claimed that due to this fear Pakistan has taken a U-turn.
After the meeting of ICC, PCB and BCB, the Government of Pakistan announced that Pakistan is withdrawing its decision to boycott the match with India. Now as per the fixed schedule, India vs Pakistan match will be played on 15th February in Colombo.
