These days, cases of negligence of administration are continuously coming to light in the capital Delhi. Recently, the case of a person dying after falling into a pit of Delhi Jal Board was still in the headlines when another such incident came to light. Where 27 year old laborer Birju died after falling into an open manhole near Kali Mandir in Rohini Sector-32 of the capital Delhi.
However, after this accident, work has been done overnight by the administration to cover the open manhole. This incident came to light on Tuesday, January 10, at around 2.36 PM, when Begumpur police station received a PCR call. Police, DDA and fire brigade teams conducted rescue operations, but the youth could not be saved.
What is the whole matter?
It was told that this accident happened due to the negligence of Delhi Jal Board and other agencies. The manhole in which the young man fell was built straight and at the same height as the road, whereas generally as a precaution it is made a little higher than the road.
Local people say that the road is very dark at night, which increases the danger. If the manhole had been covered in time and lighting had been arranged, one person’s life could have been saved. After the accident, the administration hastily covered up the incident to hide its negligence.
What did the local people say?
Mahesh, who lives nearby, said that after removing the body, the manhole was covered with a lid at around 7.30 pm. He said that information about many such open manholes had been given to the administration earlier also, but no action was taken.
Another resident named Sachin said that big projects are going on in the area, but DDA has not shown seriousness regarding security. People allege that many manholes were already open, which were hastily covered after the accident.
Action taken overnight after Janakpuri case!
In Janakpuri, a bike rider had died due to Delhi Jal Board carelessly leaving a pit open, due to which there is still anger among the local people. Perhaps this is the reason why the government has worked to cover up the second case overnight as soon as it came to light.
