Rajasthan Finance Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari presented Budget 2026 in the Assembly on 11 February. Bhajan Lal government made many important announcements focusing on infrastructure, education, youth and women empowerment. This time’s budget was described as a big step towards prosperous Rajasthan and developed India.

Special focus on education in the budget!

In this budget, Rajasthan State Test Agency will be formed on the lines of National Test Agency to prevent incidents like paper leaks. Vocational education will start in 500 schools and one vocational school will be upgraded in each district. A provision of Rs 51.10 crore has been made for vocational education in 500 schools.

Meritorious students of class 8, 10 and 12 will be given assistance up to Rs 20,000 through DBT. 800 schools will be upgraded in a phased manner and Rs 20 crore will be spent to set up next generation techno hubs like AI labs in 1000 schools. Children of martyrs and ex-servicemen will be given an annual scholarship of Rs 2,000.

Following the instructions of the Supreme Court, toilets will be built for girl students in all government schools. Rs 950 crore will be spent on renovation and maintenance of government schools. Rani Lakshmibai centers will be established in 150 colleges.

Ex-Servicemen, Youth and Women Empowerment

Major Shaitan Singh Training Center will be established in Jodhpur. A provision of Rs 1,000 crore has been made for training the veterans and children of ex-servicemen for competitive examinations. There has also been talk of building a war museum in Jhunjhunu.

Paying attention to women empowerment, the government has now said to give loans up to Rs 1.5 lakh to eligible women under Lakhpati Didi Scheme. A provision of Rs 10 crore has been made for the appointment of women security guards and guides. 1000 youth will also be given training in English, Japanese and Korean languages.

Health, Road Safety and Infrastructure

To reduce road accidents in the state, CPR training will be made mandatory while making driving license. Smart traffic management system will be implemented at a cost of Rs 100 crore and Rs 150 crore will be spent for trauma centres. Abandoned and destitute people will get treatment through Ayushman Arogya Centre.

A new IPD tower with 500 bed capacity will be built in JK Lone Hospital. Folk dance festivals will be organized at the divisional level. Studies will be conducted for new airports in Sikar, Jhunjhunu and Deeg-Bharatpur, which will boost regional connectivity.

Committee on 8th Pay Commission

Finance Minister Diya Kumari has made a big announcement for the economic and professional development of lakhs of employees and pensioners of the state, winning the hearts of them. A special ‘Salary Account Package’ will be introduced for government employees. In this, facilities like advanced digital banking, loans at very cheap (concessional) rates and comprehensive insurance cover will be available. The biggest advantage of this package is that these facilities will be made available not only to service employees but also to pensioners up to the age of 70 years.

Will get international level training

The government has announced the formation of a ‘high level committee’ to implement the Eighth Pay Commission report in Rajasthan in future. This committee will also resolve pay discrepancies and promotion issues. State officials will now be given international level training to improve their efficiency.

The government admitted that the names of farmers of villages governed by Rajasthan Village Act of tribal districts Dungarpur Banswara and other districts are not mentioned in the revenue records, due to which they do not get bank loans under various government schemes. It is proposed in this budget to amend this Act to provide the benefits of Khatedari rights to the farmers of these villages.

Finance Minister Diya Kumari announced that rest houses will be built in the hospital for the attendants of patients to stay and the panchayats doing better work will get ‘State Award’. Apart from this, cheap electricity has been announced in the districts with availability of salt water for fisheries.
