Rahul’s statement on PM Modi removed from record
Rahul Gandhi alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ‘sold’ India through this deal and it is a ‘wholesale surrender’. Rahul Gandhi said that this agreement is a surrender not just of the Prime Minister but of the future of 1.5 billion Indians. He claimed that the government did this to protect the financial structure of BJP. Rahul said, ‘You have sold India. Aren’t you ashamed of selling India? You have sold our mother Bharat Mata.

Rahul Gandhi raised questions on India-US trade deal
Rahul Gandhi said on many aspects of the India-US trade deal that India’s data was handed over to America, the need for data localization was abolished, free data flow was allowed, digital tax was capped, there was no need to show source code and foreign companies were given 20 years of tax exemption. He said:
- India’s energy security has been handed over to America.
- Now America will decide whether India should buy oil from Russia or not.
- Energy and finance are being weaponized globally, but the government allowed America to use this weapon.
- The door has been opened to American mechanized farming, which will crush poor farmers.
- The government has also caused huge losses in the digital sector.
- Earlier the American tariff on India was an average of 3 percent, now it has increased to 18 percent, while India reduced the tariff for America to zero.

The Finance Minister had retaliated on Rahul’s statement
Nirmala Sitharaman said that the Leader of Opposition is teaching us how to compromise. In 2009, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had talked about bringing India and Pakistan together. Then Congress had said that we will make a compromise and also talk with Pakistan. The people selling are you. He further said, ‘Kiren Rijiju rightly said that no son of his mother was born who sold India.’
