There was a stir at Ganeshwar Teerth Dham, the famous faith center located in Sikar district of Rajasthan, when a suspicious suitcase thrown in the holy pond caused a massive explosion.
This incident, which happened just before the festival of Mahashivratri, has given sleepless nights to the police and administration. Fortunately, there was no loss of life in this accident, but the intensity of the blast was so severe that cracks appeared in the historic walls of the pond and water gushed out.
Asked on the phone – ‘What to do now’, then threw the suitcase.
At the time of the incident, renovation work was going on in the Dham complex. Eyewitness laborer Suresh Kumar told that two suspicious youths had reached there riding on a bike. He had a suitcase and a bag of coconuts in his hands. He was talking to someone on the phone and asking, “What to do now?” Probably, as soon as he received the instructions, he threw the suitcase in the pond. Before the workers could understand anything, there were three loud explosions one after the other. As soon as the explosion occurred, the workers left their work and ran to save their lives.
The pieces of the suitcase were blown away by the explosion.
The explosion was so powerful that the suitcase broke into pieces and the entire premises was filled with smoke. Traces of explosive material have spread on the boundary wall of the pond. The echo of the explosion was heard far away, creating an atmosphere of panic in the surrounding area.
Police cantonment became a pilgrimage site
As soon as information about the incident was received, Sadar police station and top officials immediately reached the spot. Police have cordoned off the entire area and collected forensic evidence. In view of Shivratri, security arrangements have been tightened. The police are now actively searching for those two suspected bike riders. Is this a terrorist conspiracy or mischief, the police is investigating it from every aspect.
