The news of veteran actor Ranveer Singh’s exit from Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3 had surprised everyone. After this, rumors had spread that Hrithik Roshan had replaced Ranveer Singh in the third installment of the Don franchise. Now Hrithik himself has reacted to all the rumours.
What did Hrithik say on the rumors of replacing Ranveer in Don 3?
Hrithik Roshan has dismissed rumors linking himself with Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3, saying that he was never approached for the film. He issued a statement to Variety India, which read, “What started as just a rumor has now taken on a life of its own, and it is important to set the record straight. I would like to categorically state that I have never been contacted for Don 3. I request the media to desist from any such unverified reports.”
Ranveer had left Don 3 at the beginning of the year
Let us tell you that Kiranveer Singh was going to play the lead role in the third part of Don franchise and he was announced for the lead role in 2023, but he left the project earlier this year citing several delays in the film going on floors and unhappiness with the script as the main reasons for his decision.
According to reports, Farhan’s production house Excel Entertainment has asked for Rs 40 crore as compensation from Ranveer for leaving the project, and the actor has challenged any such demand saying that he has not taken any signing amount for Don 3.
Don 3 is stuck now
It is noteworthy that when Don 3 was announced with Ranveer Singh, Kiara Advani was cast as the leading lady, while Vikrant Massey was signed for the role of villain, however, this much awaited film faced many setbacks. Kiara left the film after her pregnancy, and Vikrant left the film for unknown reasons. According to reports, Kriti Sanon and popular Tamil star Arjun Das replaced Kiara and Vikrant. But now, after Ranveer’s exit from the film and the feud between him and Farhan’s Excel Entertainment, the project is stuck.
