This was Ireland’s first win in the 2026 T20 World Cup. Before this, the Irish team had lost two matches against Sri Lanka and Australia by 20 and 67 runs respectively. This was the third consecutive defeat for Oman. The team has not won a single match so far. Oman lost against Zimbabwe by 8 wickets in the first match, against Sri Lanka by 105 runs in the second match and against Ireland by 96 runs in the third match.
