Some students of Bacha Khan University, located in Charsadda city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan, were expelled from the college by the university administration because one of their classmates sang India’s national anthem ‘Jana Gana Mana’ in the youth festival organized in the university. The Youth Festival was to be organized in the university from Thursday to Sunday (February 12 to 15, 2026). Meanwhile, on Thursday (February 12), four students studying Pharmacy organized a musical.
In this sequence, Jibran Riaz, a third year pharmacy student, while expressing his liking towards Indian songs, sang the entire national anthem of India ‘Jana Gana Mana’ with his hands on his chest and during this, one of Gibran’s friends, Syed Riaz Ahmed, a fourth year pharmacy student, was also seen supporting Gibran and enthusiastically singing the Indian national anthem with his hands on his chest.
Other students of the university made the video, it went viral

The video of Gibran and his colleagues singing the Indian national anthem went viral among other pharmacy students. After which, first the fundamentalists made a video and forcefully called Jibran Riaz to support the Pakistani Army and then the administration of Bacha Khan University of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa expelled Jibran Riaz, who was studying third year Pharmacy, Syed Riaz Ahmed, who was studying fourth year, and Bashir Kan and Murad Khan, who were studying second year, were expelled from the college.
University accused students of violating rules
All of them were accused that these students have violated the rules of the university and hostel by raising slogans against the country in the university. Along with this, the university administration also alleged that these students also sang/presented the national anthem of India in such a way that it could create unrest and disrupt national unity.
By the way, this can happen only in Pakistan, where just 9 days ago in the same Charsadda, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police was providing security to the gathering of Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist Omar Shaikh, who had given bloody jihadi speeches against India, and the roadshow with Jaish flags, and now in the same Charsadda, 4 students were expelled from the university and the opportunity to study was snatched away just because they respected the Indian National Anthem. And went with enthusiasm.
