These attacks were carried out in response to the downing of the American Army’s Apache helicopter. The CENTCOM force launched accurate fire from US Air Force and Navy fighter aircraft on Iranian air defenses, ground control centers and radar centers near the Strait of Hormuz. This operation was a response to recent attacks on US forces and international ships passing through territorial waters.

US attacks Iran after Trump’s warning
These attacks have been carried out after Trump held Iran responsible for the downing of his helicopter and the US warned of retaliation. Iranian state media reported that explosions were heard on an Iranian island located in the Strait of Hormuz.
