The chessboard for the 2027 assembly elections has already started being laid in the politics of Uttarakhand. The top leadership of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has expressed its confidence in Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and made the picture of the future clear.

The way Union Health Minister and former BJP national president JP Nadda praised CM Dhami on an open platform in a program organized in Dehradun, it has given a message in the political circles that the next election will be fought on Dhami’s face and his development model.

Nadda said- ‘New height of development is visible’

JP Nadda, who reached Dehradun, in his address openly praised the working style of CM Dhami. He said, “Whenever I come to Uttarakhand, I see the state reaching new heights of development.” Nadda said that Chief Minister Dhami and his team are working day and night in serving the public and their hard work is visible on the ground. This statement of the central leadership is not just a formality but is being considered as an acceptance of Dhami’s administrative hold and political stature.

Changing face of connectivity and health services

Nadda specifically mentioned the reforms in the fields of connectivity, health and education in the state. He praised the efforts made from the Chardham project to laying the road network to the border areas, strengthening the rail network and air connectivity. The establishment of new medical colleges and modernization of district hospitals was described as the success of the ‘double engine’ of the Center and the state. The expansion of digital facilities and upgrading of schools was considered a major achievement.

‘Green signal’ to the organization for 2027

Political analysts believe that this statement of Nadda is enough to put an end to any kind of speculation going on within the organization. BJP has indicated that it will contest in 2027 only with Dhami having ‘young leadership and sharp decision making ability’. This praise is being seen as a strategy to energize the party workers and give a message of unity.

The government’s tough and clear stand on law and order, investment and religious tourism has also won the confidence of the central leadership. Now it will be interesting to see what the opposition finds to counter this ‘development and trust’ strategy of BJP.
