Before the India-Pakistan T20 World Cup match, political rhetoric has intensified. Congress MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut have given strong statements regarding this match. Both the leaders have raised questions on different issues regarding Pakistan and the organization of the match. This match is to be played in Colombo on the evening of Sunday, 15 February.
View Pakistan as enemy: Randhawa
Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa clearly said that Pakistan is the enemy of India and it should be treated like that. He said that India should have nothing to do with Pakistan. Randhawa also said that people living on the border know better how Pakistan is running a proxy war against India. According to him, in such a situation there is a need to think about sports relations also.

‘This is not an India-Pak match’: Sanjay Raut
At the same time, Sanjay Raut made different allegations regarding the match. He said that betting takes place on a large scale on India-Pak matches. During the press conference in Mumbai, Raut said, ‘This is not an India-Pakistan match, this is a Jay Shah vs Pakistan match. The people of the country do not want this match. He gave the statement taking the name of Jai Shah. Jay Shah currently holds an important position related to ICC. His father Amit Shah is the Home Minister of the country. There is no reaction yet on this statement from Jai Shah.
First boycott, then decision to play
These statements have come at a time when Pakistan had earlier decided to boycott this group match, but later changed its decision. The Pakistan team had initially said not to play the match in support of Bangladesh. It was told that Bangladesh had demanded to change the venue of the matches citing security reasons, which was not accepted by the ICC. After this the controversy increased.
PCB Chairman will also be present
According to media reports, Mohsin Naqvi, who is the chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board and also a minister in the Pakistan government, will reach Colombo to watch the match on Sunday. There is news that he can also talk to ICC officials during the match.
