Addressing journalists at the party office in the capital Lucknow, Akhilesh Yadav said that can a Chief Minister, who is calling himself a Yogi, say this about Shankaracharya? Can behavior get this bad? Akhilesh Yadav raised the question that we agree with Shankaracharya 100 percent.
Naseemuddin Siddiqui left Congress and joined SP
Naseemuddin Siddiqui, who resigned from Congress, joined Samajwadi Party (SP) in a program organized in Lucknow on Sunday (15 February). Party’s national president Akhilesh Yadav made Siddiqui join the SP. Along with him, his wife and 7 other leaders also joined the Samajwadi Party on Sunday.
Naseemuddin Siddiqui was a cabinet minister in the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) government. He joined Congress after leaving Mayawati. Last month he had also resigned from Congress.
What did Naseemuddin say during the program?
Naseemuddin Siddiqui, while addressing the press conference in the presence of Akhilesh Yadav, said that despite being in different parties, I was always influenced by Mulayam Singh Yadav. Similarly, I always considered Akhilesh Yadav as my leader.
Last month, Naseemuddin Siddiqui sent his resignation letter to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge citing personal reasons for leaving the party. In his written resignation letter, Siddiqui said that he is resigning his primary membership and all organizational responsibilities due to ‘unavoidable reasons’.
Naseemuddin Siddiqui is a well-known face in the politics of Uttar Pradesh. He started his political career with BSP and took charge of many important departments in the Mayawati government.
