US Tariff Relief: Short-Term Opportunity or Long-Term Caution for Indian Exporters? Money Live | US Tariff Relief: Short-Term Opportunity or Long-Term Caution for Indian Exporters?

The recent decision of the US Supreme Court has limited emergency tariffs and the US has imposed a 10% tariff under Section 122, which is valid for only 150 days. The effective tariff on India was 32.7% in 2025, now it has come down to 9.1%, making Indian goods more competitive in the US compared to Vietnam and Thailand. For retail investors, textiles, tiles and auto-components sectors may get a short-term edge. The 10% tariff is for 150 days, so US importers will place orders quickly, which will benefit export companies and logistics firms like Container Corporation of India in Q1–Q2. There is also a chance of $150–155 billion refunds from the Supreme Court ruling. India is a relative winner in the short-term, but sector-specific caution is necessary in H2.
