Now in Rajasthan, people with more than two children will also be able to contest municipal and panchayat elections. A big decision was taken in the Rajasthan Cabinet meeting. The Cabinet removed the ban on people with more than two children from contesting elections. A law will also be made by presenting it in the House in the current session of the Assembly. Law Minister Jogaram Patel gave this information in a press conference on Wednesday (February 25). On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore said that people have now become aware.
This decision is not influenced by the ideology of RSS – Rajyavardhan Rathore
Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore said that financially capable people who can raise more children should get a chance to contest elections. According to him, this decision is not influenced by RSS or any other ideology. He said that if we were influenced by any ideology, we would have allowed only those with more than three children to contest elections.

The Congress party has reacted sharply to the cabinet’s decision, saying that the government is working on the agenda of RSS.
Other decisions in the cabinet meeting
- Fulfilling the announcement of construction of Ayurveda University in the budget year 2024-25, the draft of Rajasthan Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy University, Ajmer Bill-2026 was approved.
- Approval of the draft of Rajasthan Industrial Park Promotion Policy- 2026 to develop the state as an important destination hub of industrial investment.
- Creation of new post of Senior Village Development Officer approved to provide more promotion opportunities to Village Development Officer cadre
- It was decided to form Directorate of Revenue Intelligence and Economic Offenses for effective prevention and prompt action on crimes.
- To make the state self-reliant in energy matters, allotment of land for 4 solar energy projects in 3 districts was approved in the state cabinet meeting.
